I hold a PhD and MS in Biomedical Engineering and a BS in Electrical Engineering.\r\n\r\nMy background is fairly interdisciplinary, spanning academic research, clinical laboratories, pharmaceutical and biotechnology environments, cell culture, teaching, mentorship, and even the restaurant and hospitality industry. These experiences have given me an appreciation for how differently people work across industries and how much opportunity exists to improve existing processes.\r\n\r\nI'm particularly passionate about emerging technologies, including AI, autonomous agents, machine learning, and robotics, and their potential to fundamentally transform how we approach medicine, healthcare, scientific research, and everyday work.\r\n\r\nBeyond research, I'm also an AI instructor, leading workshops for working professionals, small business owners, and people without technical backgrounds, including lawyers, marketers, hairstylists, and wedding planners. I enjoy making these technologies accessible, helping people understand what is possible, and exploring how AI can empower individuals who may never have considered themselves technical.","working":"My current research focuses on cardiovascular medical devices and cardiac electrophysiology, including pulsed field ablation, computational modeling, and experimental studies in rodent models of cardiovascular disease.\r\n\r\nAt the same time, I'm exploring a career transition toward the intersection of AI, biomedical engineering, and medical technology, with a particular interest in how AI-native approaches could fundamentally change scientific research, healthcare delivery, and the development of new technologies.\r\n\r\nI'm also actively exploring entrepreneurship, participating in venture studios, AI communities, and founder networking events. One area I'm investigating through customer discovery is the clinical laboratory, where fragmented workflows, manual communication, and administrative burdens create opportunities for AI-native solutions. I'm particularly interested in identifying problems worth solving rather than simply applying AI to existing processes.\r\n\r\nMore broadly, I'm exploring applications of AI agents and automation across healthcare, biotechnology, research, and small businesses, while continuing to teach AI workshops and help others adopt these tools.\r\n\r\nI'd love to connect with researchers, engineers, and builders who are pushing beyond conventional applications of AI, exchange ideas, collaborate on projects, and contribute to workshops or other community initiatives where my technical, research, and teaching experience might be useful.","links":[["LinkedIn","https://www.linkedin.com/in/jonathan-bramsen-7b7a9828/"]],"public":true},{"slug":"juan-martinez","name":"Juan Martinez","role":"PhD Candidate","field":"Plant ecophysiology","badges":[],"avatar":"/files/avatars/juan-martinez/jVznvPrOH_Ys-portrait-256.png","bg":"sage","about":"Im just a regular guy that enjoys biking, working through datasets and playing tennis in no particular order.","working":"Plant functional traits in the context of climate change!
